How to make the perfect steak

4 Feb

Did i mention that my boyfriend is an amazing cook? Well, he is. He just made the perfect steak for dinner.

Here’s what he did:

Cut off all the fat and white stuff (my terminology rocks, I know) from around the meat. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Melt 1.5 tbspns of butter in a skillet. On high heat brown the steak for about 2 minutes (on both sides and make sure you poor the melted butter on top of it). Once the steak is browned, stick it in the oven at 225F for about 20 minutes. Take out and let rest for 5 minutes. Serve.

Bonus: that butter with steak juice on the bottom of the pan?  Soak it with some bread and EAT it. It’s frigging delicious.

Definitely doing this! I have no clue how to cook a steak. Important questions — what cut of meat and how thick was it?

That’s a good question! It was… angus something lol. I know this isn’t much, but I really don’t remember, sorry about that. I will pay more attention next time he buys steak and will add it to my post. And it was probably a little over an inch thick. Also, I forgot to add this to my post: before he cooked it, he cut off all the white stuff around the meat: fat etc.

Hahaha no worries, I’ll keep my eye out for your next steak post 😉 This will do for now — thank you!!!
